Win a seat at my next workshop

You heard that right! I’m hosting a unique workshop event this November for up to 10 participants, and I’m giving away every seat for FREE.

Before I get into the details, I’ll answer the question you might be asking in your head right now: “why?”

Since 2018, I’ve made a point to take on a pro-bono project every year as a way to give give back my community. When each of us thrive, we all thrive, and from this spirit my Sprint For Good program was born.

The program is a way to bring deserving organizations and missions a chance to meaningfully move their business, product and/or service forward. That includes the opportunity to participate in full-blown Design Sprints, Strategic Planning Sessions, and more.

During a time of uncertainty — currently being branded by the media as languish and great resignation (which feels accurate) — I want to offer something to help individuals and their personal growth in particular. So, this year the Sprint For Good program will award up to 10 people a seat at my next workshop to give individuals an opportunity to invest in their facilitation skillset without needing the resources to invest financially. I believe that the better able people are able to collaborate and work together, the better the experience will be for all the people involved, as well as the outcome.

Here’s the scoop:

What: A virtual training for up to 10 selected applicants

When: Friday, Nov 12th, at 10am CST / 11am EST / 8am PST / 3pm in London

Who: Facilitators, or people who are interested in learning more about facilitation, whether at the onset of their career, or simply looking for more tools, resources and skills to feel more confident in the role.

How: Through an intensive, two-hour session, where I’ll share key learnings from my 10 years as a facilitator. Think of it as a mini-bootcamp. You’ll walk away with foundational knowledge, like:

  • How to recognize workshop indicators (AKA the flags you should be looking for to help determine if your org needs a workshop)

  • How to write a problem-statement and get buy-in from stakeholders

  • How to get ready for your workshop (everything from the tools you’ll need to setting participant expectations)

  • How to facilitate a workshop (including the use of confidence-building techniques, and tools like storyboarding, note-and-vote, anonymous idea-sharing, and more)

There will also be a Q&A session following the 2-hour workshop. All participants are welcome to stay in the virtual classroom to ask questions.

To Apply: Visit the application page on my website and tell me why you think you deserve to win a spot at the session, and what you’re hoping to learn. The application deadline is Friday, October 29th, 2021. Winners will be notified via email on November 1, and priority will be given to people who identify as non-white, LGBTQIA+, Immigrants, women, and/or persons with disabilities, though all people are welcome to express interest and tell me why they want to join.
